OUR STORY

The idea of growing strawberries in central Kansas started in the summer of ‘14. We were were having a family discussion on farming when my husband came up with the wild idea of having a strawberry patch. At the time, I didn’t give it too much thought because Justin is always coming up with new ideas. This idea actually caught the attention of my late mother-in-law. She thought it was a wonderful idea. Royce, Troy, and Justin then put in a test plot behind their house. They could see what variety of strawberries did well, how to make the mounds, and how they wanted to irrigate the plants efficiently. Spring of 2016 came and the guys prepared the ground to plant the strawberries. During this time, I had our son. We were a little busy to say the least. The guys planted 6,000 strawberries plugs by hand that year. After a year of growing, they were finally ready to be picked! We had a wonderful first year of our U-Pick Strawberry Patch. It was so nice finally meeting people in Inman and the surrounding communities. We learned a lot those days! We are excited to open up again this year. Keep looking on Facebook for updates! We will be open only for approximately eight to ten days at the end of May or at the beginning of June. Hours will run 6-8 pm. Strawberries will be $4 a pound. We provide trays!
